Live at the AmFam: Lunchtime Update

With windy conditions early, low scores are not as prevalent as they were on Friday.

Doug Garwood was in the first group off the 10th tee this morning and has the low round of the day going. Garwood shot 30 on the back nine (his first), which included six straight birdies.

Garwood got to within one of the lead before driving the ball in the hazard on the second (his 11th) and tallying a bogey.

Corey Pavin birdied the first two holes and currently resides a seven-under, one shot off the lead.

Hometown favorite Steve Stricker got the roars going early as he birdied the first two holes and after Paul Broadhurst bogeyed four, he is now apart of a trio tied for the lead that also includes Brian Henninger.

Other notable low rounds include Scott Verplank who is -3 for the day and -7 overall and Illinois head golf coach Mike Small has vaulted his name to the first page of the leaderboard as he is -4 thru 12 and -6 overall.

Fred Couples got off to a slow start as he hit is drive in the hazard on No. 2 which resulted in a bogey six. The par-5 was playing down wind and Couples would have had a short iron in if he were able to keep the ball in the play. He is +1 for the day and -4 overall as he plays the sixth hole.

Darius Rucker, Derek Jeter, Brett Favre, and Andy North will take part in a celebrity foursome at 1:30 PM
